Dann has directed and performed professionally
for over ten years, running his own theater company, community theater shows, educational shows, interactive dinner theaters
and more. Below are photographs from a few of the shows he's directed and designed, each highlighting a different design
and direction style. For a more complete list of Dann's work in theater, visit BIO & RESUME.

A Vibrant and High-Energy Show
Designing a high energy musical takes a distinctly
different touch than a tragedy like Jekyll and Hyde, below. Dann began his design with Frank Lloyd Wright in mind and
then splashed it with color. The wildly successful production seen in these photos was produced for Henry Sibly High
School in 2006.

Designing a Dark, Brooding Tragedy
Jekyll and Hyde was a moody and dark
show, designed and directed by Dann for Aberdeen Central High School. The design of a fully functional unit set
and lighting with rich tones and pools of light came off fantastically. Though a high school show, Jekyll and Hyde reached
far beyond the capabilities of most high schools.

Escanaba in da Moonlight
Written by Jeff Daniels, this production is one of the funniest and quirkiest plays
to come out of the midwest. Realism was the focus in Dann's design and direction for the show, letting the show snatch
its humor from the outrageous characters. Dann also performed in Escanaba for the Aberdeen Community Theatre in 2003. This image involved a toiletpaper poking scene with real-life brother and co-actor Tom Hurlbert.

THE SET
The Aberdeen Community Theater may easily be the
strongest Midwestern Community Theater. The talent pool is deep, and the support is tremendous. This set was designed
and built from parts of a delapitated farmhouse and was furnished with trappings from several good and down-home locals, which
resulted in a accutely realistic and detailed set. Dann's only regret from this show was that the set photos were
. . . a little blurry.
Guidance from the Jimmer.
Few of those that live in the midwest are able to
make a living solely off acting. Dr. Warren Redmond [appearing here as the Jimmer] is a local dermotologist, and
one of the most talented character actors to grace the stage. (He's not too bad with dermotology, either.)
