|
Lewis Main and Deputized Rogue Citizen Lizard Cop
is the brainchild of a creative team out of Aberdeen, South Dakota. It was produced as part of the 48 Hour Film
Festival, 2005 in that rural community. The script could be a pilot for any prime-time sitcom, and the cast and crew
pulled the film off beautifully and hilariously.
The Premise: Lewis Main, played by Dann Hurlbert, is
a dirty cop that "plays by his oooowwwwn rules." Together with his half-man, half-lizard partner, Main
cleans the streets of sex, drugs, and rock and roll--taking occassional abuses by the Chief, a muppet.

|
In 2006, Dann took Henry Sibley High School's Student Written One Act
Plays in another direction. Instead of keeping a creative hand in the plays themselves, Dann developed a sixteen minute
documentary highlighting the strengths and skills of his students. The response was fantastic. The students' hard
work paid off not only on stage, but also in the professional quality of the four-minute documentaries that accompanied each
show.
The Premise: The student directors reveal different writing processes
and directing strategies, which makes both their cast and themselves shine.
Produced by: Henry Sibley HS
Directed by: Dann Hurlbert
